Starting with initial funding of thirty million, we now manage more than a quarter billion dollars of capital on behalf of leading endowments, financial institutions, fund of funds, and family offices in North America and Asia. We prefer to be the first and lead institutional investor – from raw start-ups to profitable, bootstrapped businesses. In all cases, there must be an opportunity and a mutual commitment to create significant value with limited outside funding. From very modest beginnings, our portfolio companies have grown rapidly to employ thousands of people from around the world and generate more than a billion dollars in annual revenue. We view each engagement as a long term commitment of our time as well as our capital. We invest in only a handful of new opportunities each year and we limit the number of boards each partner can take on. We do not want to be active merely for the sake of being active. However, a disciplined pace and small fund sizes enable us to be ready and able to assist entrepreneurs and their companies. The actions and decisions made at the earliest stages have huge multiplier effects and VCs can have tremendous influence during these critical stages. We contribute not only capital but experienced and patient guidance. We invest in all sectors of the IT industry including software, systems, services and components. Our capital commitments have ranged from $100,000 to over $6 million. For special situations, we can access additional capital, having raised more than $1 billion from co-investors and limited partners.
