Default Where to research?

I am a beginner at this.
I can google and find out lots of information but I'm wondering where are the best places to learn about a company's reputation and what the business community as well as former investors think of them?

You can try a bunch of places:

1. An on line media search will help to discover everything that has been written up on the company in every newspaper, trade journal and industry magazine.

2. There are other databases like Lexis Nexis, Dunn & Bradstreet, Equifax Canada.

3. You can also try a Due Diligence company like Corpa Investigation.

Thanks for those sources of information.

Sometimes I question some research that's done online in general. For example, isn't the content at Wikipedia influenced by users?

I still use if for "casual" information.

Idea is good. Research is very important to invest but yes, at a same time you need man power and time to reaserch. If you are going to invest for e-business then google reaserch is good, but nto enough.

There are two levels of research. Preliminary research can be had on the internet, etc. However for true due diligence on a company in which you're considering investing you need to go pretty deep. Letters of intent from potential customers; Speaking to the company's vendors and customers, etc.
