Default The one thing

The one thing that I have learned when it came to building a succesful business is doing your homework. Researching your options as well as your competition. You have to know the basis of what you are going up against.

I very much agree to that sacback.
It's my biggest dream to build a successful internet business. I want to run a business because it will give me a sense of independence. And I can only achieve my goals if I research and learn tips from business experts.

It is my dream to have a successful internet business too.
I want to be able to work from home so that I can continue to homeschool my son have a large amount of quality family time.
It is just hard to know who to trust for advice.

I went to a free seminar that was supposed to help you build a successful internet business. They quoted often how well they were rated as a good company. It ended up that you had to invest $6000.00 with the company that day to be able to get their 'deal of a lifetime.' Now it really sounded good and they had all kinds of people who have done it in the past speak to us and tell us how much money they were making now and how easy it was. BUT, you had to sign up for it that day or you never ever had the opportunity again.
Now I don't have extra $6000,s floating around and I might have been able to borrow it from my Dad but I got huge red flags in my mind when they said you had to put out that money before you leave today or you will never be given the opportunity again. I may have missed the best deal I will ever ever be offered but I don't like ultimatums like that. If it was legit and a good company to invest in why couldn't I have gone home and checked it out on the internet myself and researched it and then decided to come to them and buy in to the company?

It just had a bad feeling to it.

Red flags would have been going up all over the place for me to, faithib. My motto is if they can't wait for me to have the time to make a decision then they don't need me to join them.

Yes, I am completely agree with you. Homework is very very necessary, without doing home is just a waster of money. Be cautious before so you wont have to cary after investing.

Also, being able to adapt to changing conditions is important. Sometimes what you learned doing that homework changed since you DID your homework.

A fellow business owner once told me that most businesses wind up operating under very different circumstances than the original plan. I have to say that's very true in my company's case.

Default Working

Working for oneself is probably the biggest confidence builder you will ever encounter. You become almost completely responsible for your successes and failures and your confidence grows with each failure overcome.

You were very much correct in having red flags about such an offer. This is a well knowning agressive marketing technique used only by the most cut throat of salesmen. The idea is to create a mindset of greed / tension / immediate threat to prompt you to impulsive action rather than allowing you time to think about it.

Not good for the buyer anyway you like it.

Default Reseach now relax later

I can't express enough how imporant research is when starting a business. You must research every aspect in order to cover all your bases and be a success. Your idea might be good but if your information is faulty, the business could fail. Talk to others who have been in your business or some for of it. Find a mentor.
