Funds For Women's Small Business?

I remember hearing somewhere that there are special places that women can go to in order to get money for their small business. I'm pretty sure that the business has to be owned and run by women but are there places to go to that help women with their business? Anyone know?

I hope not. Not that i am against women owning businesses, I am against anything that is exclusionist like this idea seems to be. If they are offering funding for small business ventures i would like to see it offered to anyone who can run a business.

I am affraid I have to agree here. Even though I am a woman in business, it would be unfair for a woman to have access to extra funding when men do not.

I'm sure I have heard about help for women trying to start a business. I think the reason for it is because many financial institutions are unfair to women when it comes to loaning them money. Many of them will gladly loan to a man or if a woman is starting a business with a man.

It might sound unfair but I think some places are trying to even out the unfairness that is shown to female small business owners.

There are specail funding places for women. Contact the federal funding source and ask for minority and women in business. There are a great number of grants and loans especially for women.
