Default PayPal Scams

I suspect a lot of people will have heard about these, but from time to time I get an email that appears to be from PayPal, suggesting I click on a link and update or verify my information.

I forward these to spoof@paypal.com and they usually confirm that the email was a fraud.

I understand that if PayPal did contact me, it would be with my actual name, which these phishing emails don't.

Default

I have heard of this before, it seems it is a common problem, but at least Paypal have a way of dealing with it, so long as we report these messages.

Default problem

The problem with dealing with these scams is that most of these are pulled in countries where the long arm of first world law is not welcome nor cooperated with in any form.

Paypal keeps track of them....but mostly its a dead end.

Default Been Scammed

Good morning all

We have also been hit via paypal as well as privately.

If anyone from Indonesia contacts you it is also more then likely a scam. We have lost a total of $114,000. to date even though we have tried to be so careful.

Even with requesting photo ID it didn't help. Turns out they are even scamming other peoples ID.

It's making it hard for a small company to get anywhere and its getting worse instead of better.

We are now being contacted by a Bradnam Phay from Malaysia that is trying to tell me I have to send him a $10.00 draft in order for his bank to wire the money to us for a watch.

After 10yrs of working in the bank I thankfuly know that is not how the proceedure goes.

Sorry to vent for so long but its just getting so frustrating trying to find ligitimate customers that are honest and trustworthy.
